...lazy blogger...

This blog entry is mainly an apology for Dale and Lisa Taylor. Besides documenting what went on during the first year after my graduation, I wanted to keep this sight up to keep you two up on what's going on in my life. Alas, I am just one lazy blogger.

So here is a general update. I am still working at the Fortwood Center (read previous cheesy blog) and still lovin' it. Even though its a pretty tough job finding all of my clients, doing the paperwork, treating my clients, and keeping TennCare and AdvoCare happy, I know I am doing a good work that I am more than happy to do. For those of you that don't know, I do in fact live in St. Elmo and every evening I enjoy looking up from my porch to Lookout Mountain and seeing the stars; which is my new favorite thing to do--again.

Earlier in my Christian Life (the Freed-Hardeman University period especially) I took a lot of comfort in seeing the stars. Being blinded by the city lights in Chattanooga, it seems as though I first saw the magnificence of the stars at a VBS the student center did at a KOA in North Carolina years back.

When I saw the stars I was reminded of something that happened several thousand years ago in the middle east that deeply moved me. This event had to be very intimate for a man named Abraham. Probably for the first time in Abraham's life, he saw the stars. God came down to this man and gave him a glimpse of the glory of his family. God promised him that he would have as many descendants as there are stars. The man and his wife were well past the age of having children, and probably never imagined further into the future than taking his child fishing. At this time in his life Abraham most likely had given up on that dream. But on this night, God ignited a dream in Abraham that could only be imagining by trying to name all the stars.

On a clear night, I cannot help but to worship our God. I know that even I am part of the fulfillment of a promise to Abraham. He and God looked and saw that we were good. We are a promise that was kept, an existence that was looked forward to. Because of God's grace and Abraham's faithfulness, we do have a world-wide, multi-generational, and ever-growing photo album. The stars. A dream, given by God, is continuing to be fulfilled, by people all around the world and in Chattanooga; you know who you are.
